There’s a new player in the direct-to-consumer contact lens market.
Eiyan Lens recently announced the arrival of its monthly contacts. The New York-based company says its product is more than 50% less expensive than major brands.
“It’s no secret that contact lens prices were getting out of hand,” said Michael Perl, CEO of Eiyan Lens, in a press release. “So we decided to offer a solution by slashing the prices significantly, but still retaining the top-notch quality you find in other well-known brands.”
On the Eiyan Lens website, a box of three lenses is priced at $11.95. A three-month supply is $23.90.
The lenses are made of silicone hydrogel and manufactured by Visco Vision. The manufacturer is publicly listed in Taiwan. It has a manufacturing facility in Penang, Malaysia.

Eiyan Lens contacts only are available as monthlies. The company may offer dailies or biweeklies in the future. It also could expand its lineup to include multifocal lenses and/or toric lenses.
