Telemed Boosts Eyecare
In a Vision Wellness Study from Versant Health, 74% of respondents under 40 said access to tech and tools for virtual visits would make them more likely to schedule a routine eye exam. Some 38% of under-40s said being able to communicate remotely with ODs would have a high impact on seeing one more often, compared to 34% of people 40-59 and just 15% of people 60 and over. Of health plan executives, 76% believed members’ use of alternatives to face-to-face contact with ODs will increase substantially or somewhat as a result of COVID. The survey of 525 consumers nationwide, plus 17 health plan leaders, analyzed opinions on routine eyecare, access to eye exams and changes in care caused by the pandemic. versanthealth.com
Americans Split on Vaccine
Invisibly recently surveyed 5,537 Americans using their Realtime Research tool to understand attitudes toward the COVID-19 vaccine, and learned that Americans are split on their willingness to take it, and that willingness also varies by ethnic group and age. Just shy of half (47%) of people are unlikely to get the COVID-19 vaccine, with 53 percent of Black people unlikely to get it, 50 percent of Latinx people unlikely, and 38 percent of white people. Additionally, 44 percent of Americans feel the vaccines are untrustworthy. In addition to those figures, 33 percent of people over age 55 are unwilling to get the vaccine and 25 percent of vaccinated individuals said they are unlikely to wear a mask after vaccination. invisionmag.com/032101
