An optometry office in Shallotte, NC, was destroyed by a fire on Monday.

No one was in the office at Vision Square Eye Care when crews were called to the scene at 6:08 a.m., WECT-TV reports.

“They employ a lot of people and they have several other offices but I know their hearts are with the people that work for them, Monique Holenko, who owns the bakery next door, was quoted saying. “I know that it’s very difficult for them.”

Most of the equipment in the office was destroyed, according to WECT. Only a few computers were salvaged.

Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire. It’s also not yet known whether the practice plans to rebuild on the site.

About 30 employees worked at the location. The practice’s website also lists locations in Southport and Calabash.
