For Dr. Mark Margolies, optometry is his day job but music is his passion. “I always wanted to go to Berklee College of Music but went to optometry school instead,” he shares. Some favorite parts of running his business are choosing his own hours so he has weekends free to pursue music, caring for his patients as he sees fit and choosing the products that will serve them well, and sharing the responsibility of running his practice with his wife Sandra. “She manages the frame inventory, prepares charts, works with patients and never loses her cool! Patients absolutely love her and so do I,” he shares. Of course, if he loses his cool, his destressing ritual involves music! “To unwind from a stressful day, I’ll put on some jazz or blues for the ride home.” He has been playing guitar since he was 13 and at home a guitar is never far away. “I own 10 guitars! I made a blues album in 2022 called Can’t You See and every Sunday night, I go to the Twisted Tail in Philadelphia for a Blues Jam.
