Dr. Evie Lawson has absolutely no problem identifying her favorite thing about running her business: “Developing my employees and teaching my patients,” she says. “I love to educate patients and walk them through solutions to problems. I love to watch my employees grow and develop. I also love to create an experience for the team and my patients that is different than what they have had in the past. Making it memorable is my goal. My office ‘why’ is to create an experience that leaves each patient feeling like they are a whole better version of themselves.” So it’s not surprising her least favorite is not getting it right. “I hate … when I don’t get my message across or it’s not understood. I am always up for being challenged, questioned, and learning more but when I fail it’s ‘a no good very bad day.’” To turn those days around, she spends time with her kids, husband and animals in the mountains or with a cold beer on her back porch. Also, “my husband is a dentist and owns his own business and nobody likes the dentist — except for me and my kids — so I can always commiserate about my day with him!”
